mtr software package provides Full screen ncurses and X11 traceroute tool, you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install mtr
mtr is installed in your system.
Make ensure the mtr package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep mtr *
You will get with mtr package name, version, architecture and description in a table
